Charlotte Home Inspector Finds Poor Drainage on Fort Mill Home

November 2nd, 2010 · No Comments

Charlotte Home Inspector Preston Sandlin found high moisture in the right rear corner of a Fort Mill home he was recently inspecting.  When he inspected the outside he found the cause for this.  The soil or ground was sloped towards the house on the right rear corner of the house.  The soil should plane away from the house and drop “1 for every “10 to keep water away from your foundation.  If not the water will eventually cause the footers to settle an cause cracking along with a whole host of moisture related problems in the crawlspace.
