Charlotte Home Inspector Finds a Fire Hazard in the Attic

 Is there a fire hazard in your attic. If you have recessed or canned lighting in your attic there is supposed to be a “3 clearance all the way around it.  These cans give off a tremendous amount of heat and are a fire hazard if the against something combustible like you see in this picture that Charlotte home inspector Preston Sandlin took while inspecting the attic of a Charlotte NC home.  It is lucky that the inspector found this and put it on his inspection report before this house caught on fire.  If your house has recessed lighting make sure that they have a “3 clearance to all combustible maerials.
